전체 영어로 된 『Children's Song Book』은 잘 알려진 영어 노래로 피아노를 가르치는 교재로, 다섯 손가락 자리에서 음이름으로 곧바로 피아노를 연주하게 합니다. 익숙한 노래는 이미 그 자체로 학생들에게 소리에 대한 가이드가 되어 주며, 피아노에서 연주하는 방법을 이해하는 데 도움이 됩니다. 주어지는 가사로 학생들은 노래하며 피아노를 반복 연습할 수 있습니다.

가운데 도(C)에서 시작하여 다섯 손가락을 중심으로 음역이 넓혀지며 또한 손의 자리도 다양하게 발전합니다. 학생들은 음이름, 손가락번호로 간단하게 피아노 연주를 시작할 수 있으며, 곡 시작 전에 제공되는 건반그림은 학생들이 어떤 건반에서 어떤 손가락번호로 곡을 연주하게 되는지 미리 알려줍니다.

이 교재는 다음의 다섯 단계로 구성되어 있습니다: 오른손 연주, 왼손 연주, 양손 유니슨, 화음 반주 포함, 알베르티 베이스 반주. 익숙한 노래로 오른손, 왼손, 양손 연주 및 반주까지 포함된 연주를 통해 학생들은 좀 더 빨리 원하는 목표에 다다를 수 있게 됩니다.

그러므로 이 교재를 기존 기초교재와 병행으로 사용하셔도 좋은 효과를 얻을 수 있을 것입니다. 곡과 관련된 재미난 이야기가 소개되는 ‘Did You Know?’는 이 교재의 또 다른 재미가 되어 줄 것이며, 수록된 곡과 연결된 작품을 들어볼 수 있도록 제공된 QR 코드는 학생들의 음악감상을 풍성하게 해줄 것입니다.

모든 곡마다 세 가지 음원이 제공됩니다. 합주 음원으로 먼저 곡 전체를 감상할 수 있으며 연습용 빠르기와 연주용 빠르기로 구성된 반주 음원으로 학생들은 반주에 맞춰 연주함으로써 음악성을 더욱 키워낼 수 있습니다.

Dr. Jin Lee is pursuing a professional and academic music career. As a versatile pianist, Jin is a recitalist and soloist with orchestras and plays frequently in North America and abroad.

As an educator, Jin also has extensive teaching experience both at the university and preparatory levels,serving at universities and music institutions throughout the United States and Korea.

Dr. Lee's educational teaching career includes independent studio education for all ages; music director,

at Norwalk College, Suny at Purchase, University of Michigan, and Mannes School of Music at The New School in New York City. Jin also teaches Piano pedagogy at Ewha Womans University, Korea.

She had the honor of studying with the world-renowned pedagogue Nelita True at the Eastman School of Music and earned a master's degree in piano performance. She also studied under Marian Hahn at the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University.

She received her Doctoral degree from Pennsylvania State University, under the guidance of Timothy Shafer. Dr. Lee earned a teacher recognition certificate from the American Protégé International Competition and is currently an US Steinway & Sons
